Day 34: Thursday, Nov. 20: Nipponbashi area

Today we wandered around the Nipponbashi subway stop and adjoining arcades, stopping for some dinner at a great restaurant that we hope to return to before leaving Japan. It was a small, traditional place right in the middle of the flashing lights and loud pachinko parlors of the Dotonbori strip. We didn't get any pictures from there, but it was delicious--probably the best of the "comfort-y" foods we've had.

Kate does her best imitation of every Japanese girl we've seen being photographed. Malcolm does his best imitation of someone who is not impressed. I mean, he's really a happy little guy!

There's this arcade game we've seen a few times, and this time Archer finally realized what it was and wanted a shot at it. He was pretty happy.

Then we went to Loft, a huge toy/gift/etc. shop, where we almost bought this hat for Archer because of how hilarious he was in it:
